The Connection Paradox

How are you Juggling Your Life?

Inspired by happy entrepreneurs you saw online, you convinced yourself you could do it, too. You chatted with your favourite AI, who praised your ambition. Nothing could stop you from turning your dream into a reality.

You quit your job to follow your dream. On day one, you designed your website, launched your product, and waited for the sales to start tumbling in.

Weeks passed as your bank account dwindled. Panicked by the lack of progress, you began grasping at any opportunity that came your way. You became angry and confused. How could you have been so wrong?

Everyone around you was telling you to just get a job. Alone in your room, you started wondering if maybe they might be right, if maybe it was time to let go of your dream and get a job. You turn once more to AI, who spits out the same twelve ideas you’ve already tried.

You know there must be a way to make this work, but you feel stuck.

Desperate for clarity, you walk outside. Sunlight hits your face, and a stranger asks, “Do you have a product or service that you sell?” You answer, confused about what they might want, that you do, but you don’t know how to sell it. The stranger looks at you with empathy in their eye, “Let’s go for a coffee, I want to know more about your challenges.”

Relief washes over you as you head to a nearby cafe. Maybe they’ll have the idea you’ve been looking for. They nod along as you tell them about your business. In a moment of silence, they ask you a question that pierces straight through you, “What do you sell?” …

After a long pause, you finally admit you never defined exactly what you sell. You spent your time chasing ideas instead of building a clear offer.

“It sounds like you need a sounding board,” the stranger says. You tense, expecting a sales pitch you can’t afford, hoping they’ll even cover coffee so you won’t have to skip lunch.

“I’ve been where you are,” the stranger reassures. “You’re full of ideas, unsure which to pursue. I can help. My service is offered either as paid or podcast-based if I want to collaborate with you on your project.” Curiosity bubbles up inside you. You’d be happy to collaborate; you’ve been miserable working alone.

They pull out microphones to start your first coaching session. Immediately, the questions they ask you make it clear what has been holding you back. You hadn’t made any sales because you hadn’t been selling anything.

By the end of your first session, you have a clear plan for the week ahead and the changes you need to make. Several sessions later, you make your first big sale, enough to cover your expenses for the next month.

Now, because you understand the value of your offer, you focus on actions that move your business forward. Obstacles become opportunities because you know how to overcome them and grow.

The First Life Juggler

The story you just read is Jessy’s journey through entrepreneurship. Jessy’s family had a seven-month-old baby and a half-finished house when he started his business in a country where he barely speaks the language. He acknowledged that these circumstances were not optimal for starting a business, but he saw no other way to generate sufficient income to support his family.

Since beginning his entrepreneurship, Jessy has teamed up with PC Guys, Novak Laser Company, and his Mom to build things that bring people together and highlight the importance of human connection. Jessy’s first projects were writing Monarch Migration with his Mom, reviving CKDS radio with Steve from PCGuys and creating the BeeKey with Břetislav.

Jessy now helps founders clarify what they want to build, develop sustainable plans, and turn them into results. His mission is to teach the power of collaborative communication.

Collaborative Communication

The Burger

Clarity in communication has always been my biggest challenge when working with people from different backgrounds. It has taken me 10 years, 7 countries and 2 new languages to design the burger above. A lot of pain (French for bread ) has gone into creating this burger, and it was worth it.

It’s hard to communicate effectively when you work with a mix of people from varied backgrounds. Everyone has a different way of doing things, and they all think their way is the best. Our goal is to focus on the process.

Through workshops, we create moments of collaboration to illustrate the power of community. If you are struggling to connect, feeling stuck, or just want to bounce your ideas off someone, Life Jugglers offers tools and activities to help you think out loud.

The Burger framework is a way to make inclusive plans that everyone involved will be happy about. Plans, that story we tell of the future, is best told from the perspective of the collective I. When we all understand what we are doing, and agree to do it, we get to be ourselves, whoever we are.
